Life by Audrey
Carlan
Synopsis
Maria De La
Torre is a survivor. Her life has not been paved with streets of gold…but with
blood and sacrifice. She may have been there for her soul sister in the Trinity
Trilogy but this story is about her life. The life she chooses. The same life
someone from her past is trying to take away.
Elijah is
the last man in the entire world Maria should be with. He’s a dark, gritty,
lawless bounty hunter—the exact opposite of the man she loved and lost, the man
who gave up everything for her. Only Elijah is not the type of guy to back
down. He’s used to getting what he wants and he’s set his sights on the
raven-haired seductress.
Time is not
on Maria and Elijah’s side. There’s a new threat to the soul sister, one Maria
never thought she’d have to face again. And this time, the stakes are life and
death.
Maria
quickly learns that the things she wants most in this lifetime may just be the
things that have the power to destroy her.
My Review
Life by Audrey Carlan
This book is the fourth book in the Trinity Trilogy. I didn’t think I could be moved any
more by the friendship of these four women, but I was pleasantly mistaken.
Maria De La Torre is living her life as a survivor with her
three soul sisters by her side.
Maria is strong, spicy, and spirited. She continues to pursue her dance
career while she puts the pieces of her heart back together after losing the
man who gave up everything for her.
Just when Maria thinks she has her emotions under control
she meets Elijah. The smoking-hot
bounty hunter who is everything she doesn’t need right now. Not after losing,
Tommy. Elijah on the other hand cannot stop thinking about Maria and her spicy,
sassy mouth and curvy body. Elijah quickly learns that Maria is no push over
and won’t be a puppet that he can control like other women. He will need to
show her she needs him.
It isn’t long before the past comes back to haunt them both
leaving them with open wounds and their hearts to guard and protect like their
lives depend on it.
I felt so drawn to Maria and Elijah’s story and wanted to be
there at every turn of the page. Both characters dig deep into your soul, while
you feel everything they feel for each other and the pain they endure from the
past, present, and future. Audrey
Carlan has a gift for making her characters real as if they are part of your
own…life. A 5 STAR read for me always.
